Public Meeting at Truman College on August 10, 2011

The sixth public meeting for the Chicago Pedestrian Plan was held in Uptown at the Truman College Cafeteria. The meeting enjoyed a lively audience, and there were some great conversations about pedestrians issues in the neighborhood and the entire City. Some of the ideas and issues we heard were:

  • Improving pedestrian infrastructure, such as lighting
  • Ensuring that pedestrian improvements take into account persons with disabilities
  • Stepping up enforcement efforts, so all users follow traffic laws
  • Making sure that the CTA is part of the process, so it is easier to walk to trains and buses
