The fifth public meeting was held in the South Shore neighborhood at the Rainbow Beach Field House. Attendees were great sports as they stayed through a hot summer night to talk about pedestrian issues. Some topics that were discussed at the meeting included:
- Ensuring that the (sometimes extreme) Chicago weather is taken into account when installing pedestrian infrastructure
- Having a balanced transportation network that can accommodate users of different modes of transport
- Improving pedestrian barriers, such as highway viaducts
- The different government agencies that have jurisdiction over infrastructure in Chicago
